Oooh, Shiny

So I still haven't given up my dreams to redo my kitchen, although anything has yet to take place. I'm very attracted to this shiny countertop though, very pretty.

Martha partying with P Diddy?

So I love Martha, and I am a follower of her blog, despite her sometimes ridiculousness. But I definitely had to do a double take on this one. Oh yes, she is a close and personal friend of Sean Diddy Combs.

Side Table No. 2

Apparently, I really have moved onto tables, as I found another one I love. I've always really liked this style of side table, and it doesn't hurt that the photo is styled fabulously.

Is MasterCard your messiah?

I know it's a little early, but I ran across these Christmas cards on The Kiwi Tree that sum it up perfectly for me -

p.s. I totally took my title from the card description, but it was just too good to pass up.

Moving on to Tables...

So normally my heart goes "thump, thump" for chairs, but today I found a little side table/bench that I'm in love with. It's from an Apartment Therapy house tour that I had seen last year, but went back and admired today. I have to just keep telling myself that I don't need more furniture, I don't need more furniture, I don't need more furniture...too bad it doesn't work though. :)

So it turns out I'm old...

I've been ignoring that fact that I'm a grown up for a while now, but it has come to my attention that I can ignore it no longer. Yes, this past weekend I found not one, but two gray hairs. I pulled them out immediately and blamed them on work, but that does not change the fact that in one month I will be in my late twenties. :(

Love is a Fickle Thing

I've professed my love for concrete counter tops before, but today I saw something that may make me sway another direction. On a house tour on Apartment Therapy, there are these gorgeous white marble counter tops, and I just can't get enough of them. Which do you prefer - concrete or white marble?

Cover it Up

So I have a bit of a guilty pleasure. I'm no longer allowed to talk about it to boyfriend, because he got so tired of listening to me blab on about it. It being rugs. I know, an odd thing to be a guilty pleasure, but for some reason, I obsess over them and look at 700 different rugs before buying one (that's not actually an exaggeration - ask boyfriend). So anyway, today I happened to troll on over to Ikea, and found a couple of new rugs I'm loving. Meet the Jorun....
and the Alvin Ruta...

Chew on This

I love to chew gum. But who would have thought it would help me lose weight? According to the Washington Post, chewing gum has a small impact, by reducing calorie intake (by about 50 calories a day), increased calorie burning and distraction from potentially fattening foods. So yeah, it's not much, but it's nice to have my habit validated.

I'm In a Gift Guide!

So I've been a little lackadaisical lately in my blog posting, please forgive me (but doesn't using the word lackadaisical make up for it a little bit?). But anyways, I've made it into an Etsy Gift Guide showcasing fresh emerging shops! They've highlighted my bright and sunny Ribbon Flora Necklace in yellow striped silk. Check out the gift guide if you get a chance - there are so many amazing undiscovered shops out there on Etsy.

Random Inspiration from Martha

I was looking through some pictures on my computer, and came across a couple I had saved from a previous browse through www.marthastewart.com. Normally I have a theme when it comes to inspiring pictures, but this is just a random mix of things I like.

Wire containers of any kind make me happy. I would love it if my bathroom storage was this organized.

Painted floors aren't for everyone, but I like them a lot.

As anyone who has read my blog for a while knows, I love chairs. Boyfriend jokingly said last week that I have seating for 12 in my "living room" area of my studio. I went back and counted, and he wasn't that far off - 8, 9 if you count my exercise ball. Anyways, this is a beautiful chair.
